About the Trust:Mananthavady Govt. Hospital is the Medical College of Wayanad District. The Trust carries out its charitable acitivities in the premises of the Me dical College. 21 years back a group of people under the leadership of Mr. Shepherd Madathiparambil thought about the novel idea of providing noon day meal for the patients and bystanders in the then District Hospital. Initially the project was catering only to about 50 patients and bystanders, the cost for preparing the food being about Rs. 300.Now this Noon Day Meal Scheme in this Medical College caters to about 400 people daily, the expense being about Rs. 5000. All are provided with good vegetarian meal. Till a couple of years back, a small area provided by the hospital authorities was being used as the kitchen. As the place was really inadequate for the purpose, we began the construction of a building in a plot of land very adjacent to the hospital which we had bought for this purpose in the year 2005. Although the foundation stone was laid on 25th February 2009, due to dire financial constraints, the construction more or less could be completed only in 2019. The new building was blessed on 2nd March, 2019 by His Grace Archbishop Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy and was inaugurated by Mrs.K. B Nazeema, the then District Panchayath President. The building is quite spacious with good kitchen, refectory, dormitory and toilet facilities.
Divine Nest & Its Services:Divine Nest is the name given to the building and we intend that this place be like a Nest for all categories of people irrespective of caste, colour or creed, especially for the poor and the needy in order to provide food, rest and relaxation. All the services are being rendered free of charge. Besides providing Noon Day Meal, the other charitable services being rendered are Pain & Palliative Care, Distribution of Clothes, Blood Donation, Financial help for poor patients, Taking care of HIV Positive Patients and Dialysis Patients
Karunya Yathra:With the inauguration of the Divine Nest, we launched upon a new project called Karunya Yathra. This is especially to cater to the Dialysis and Cancer patients who depend on this hospital for continued treatment. Having reached the town, to come to the hospital, they have to depend on Auto Service. Relying on such mode of transportation is really expensive for these patients as most of them come from lower strata of society. To ease their financial burden a little, we have made available an E lectric Auto to pick up these patients from the town to the hospital and take them back to the town free of charge. The Auto has been sponsored by Goonj, an NGO based in Delhi. Besides we also have a Thar Jeep which is very fruitfully used for these humanitarian services. The Jeep has been sponsored by UK Residents from Wayanad
The Administration Board:The administration of the Trust is managed by a Chairman and other 9 Board Members.

Financial Sources:Jeeva Jyothi Charitable Trust carries out these charitable works entirely dependent on Divine Providence. God works through benevolent and kind hearted people. The Trust has neither internal nor external steady fixed source of income. In this charitable venture we are assisted and supported by good hearted individuals, Religious Groups, Parishes, various Clubs and Organisations. It is through the generous contributions of these benefactors that we have been able to sustain and continue these very much needed humanitarian services. It is also noteworthy that those who give contributions to this Trust are given Income Tax Exemption as per the directives of the Government. To carry the Vision and Mission of this Charitable Trust forward we still need the assistance, support and
collaboration of good willed people and organisations.
